How I’d laugh uncontrollably whenever you told me you cared.

#iremember the compliments that came our way that night on Broadway. When you wore the off-the-shoulder dress that highlighted those off-the-chain curves. #iremember knowing smiles and driving for miles. We’d listen to Miles & Coltrane while sitting on cold trains. #iremember nights when raindrops fell.

#iremember when all my words were meant for you. Now #ihatewhen I get writer’s block. Only because thoughts of you are all that will cure it. #iremember trying to write a poem that would describe my feelings for you. But I couldn’t. Because I’m bad at poems. But I was good at you.

What I refuse to remember is where or what I was before you. Or how I got over you, and to today. All #iremember is what makes the most sense to me: how I loved you.
